We are feeling like right lucky bunnies here at caro snatch HQ. We have been awarded funding from the PRS Women Make Music latest allocation for a project we have been cooking up called Delia Derbyshire Day.
This will be an event in Manchester, a little Northern England tour, 3 new music based performance pieces and educational programme. Very exciting!
So myself, contemporary classical composer Ailís Ní Ríain and conceptual sound artist Naomi Kashiwagi will produce and perform a new piece of music/sound art inspired by spending time with the physical archives of Delia Derbyshire held at the University of Manchester.
An event at Band on the Wall here in Manchester in January around the performances will include a screening of Kara Blake’s documentary The Delian Mode and hopefully Q&A with director alongside a few other Delian experts.
