I have been invited by the education team at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall to create a new musical work celebrating the 30th anniversary of the unique venue.

We are calling it a musical guestbook, as we ask audience and staff one question:

When you think of The Bridgewater Hall, is there a word of sound that comes to mind?

These audio contributions will be recorded and will help form the new work, using my sampling, found sound and audio sculpting creativity. I will also be getting sonically intimate with the building, recording interesting sonorities (and the epic reverberation) which will form part of my musical palette.

I am collaborating with sound artist/orchestral arranger Katie Chatburn for an exciting meeting of musical minds. The new piece will be shared and performed in Summer 2027, dates TBC.
