Commission for Rotherham, the first Children’s Capital of Culture

Another lovely co-creation commission, invited by Walk The Plank. Rotherham decided it would be the first Children’s Capital of Culture in 2025/6. I collected voices, visions and perspectives of school children, participants at Saturday Club at the amazing Grimm & Co and Dearne College students while adults’ voices were collected by Heritage Producers for each ward in the borough.

The pieces were played in the minster of Rotherham as part of the celebration event in March 2026.

I wonder where the next Children’s Capital of Culture will be?
